Seamless Script Sync: Filmustage and Final Draft Two-Way Integration

Filmustage releases two-way integration with Final Draft! This update makes script management smoother and more efficient, allowing you to easily sync and update your scripts between both platforms.

Seamless Script Sync: Filmustage and Final Draft Two-Way Integration

At Filmustage, we pride ourselves on providing professional-grade tools to filmmakers, offering seamless integration with industry-standard software like Final Draft. However, until recently, this integration was only one-way.

How It Was Before ➡️

Previously, users could upload their scripts to Filmustage, where our AI would perform a script breakdown in minutes. Users could also make manual adjustments and then export the file to Final Draft, complete with all necessary tags.

🤔 But what if the script needed changes in Final Draft?

According to our professional approach, the script itself could not be altered within Filmustage! We are dedicated to streamlining pre-production processes, and any script changes are the screenwriter's responsibility.

Once changes were made in Final Draft, the script could be re-imported into Filmustage, but without the previously set tags.

Recognizing these limitations, we embarked on a mission to develop a two-way integration. Our goal was to create a fully integrated workflow where scripts could move seamlessly between Filmustage and Final Draft, with all changes and updates automatically recognized and preserved.

How It Works Now 🔄

  • Effortless Import and Export: Users can import scripts from Final Draft into Filmustage, where our AI marks and tags all elements. Once the necessary changes are made, the script can be exported back to Final Draft, with all tags and updates preserved.
  • Full Synchronization: Any changes made in either Filmustage or Final Draft are now fully synchronized. Thus, after making changes in Final Draft, users can upload the file back into Filmustage, preserving all metadata and tags, and seamlessly integrating the changes into the existing project.

This ensures that scripts are always up-to-date, regardless of which platform you are working on. No more starting from scratch or manual re-tagging – just a seamless, efficient workflow.
